I have a tough question for anyone out there who can tell me how to explain to the interviewer on my upcoming interview on why was I unemployed for 6 months before I applied for this job. I was laid off from my previous jobby the way.

Just tell them the truth that you were laid off. If they asked you why were you unemployed for so long, I would just tell them that you took some time off for personal reasons and that you were trying to find a job that was suitable for you...show them you in for the long run.
